West Ham have one foot in the Championship after a terrible performance resulted in a 3-1 defeat to Newcastle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

They will be relegated on Tuesday night if Tottenham earn at least one point from their London derby against Chelsea.<\/p>\n

The Hammers need Calum McFarlane\u2019s Chelsea to win just to give themselves a chance of survival on the final day.<\/p>\n

West Ham would then need to beat Leeds on Sunday and hope that Everton win away to Spurs to avoid relegation.<\/p>\n

Three reasons West Ham fans should believe Chelsea will beat Spurs<\/h2>\n

The first reason for West Ham to be optimistic about Chelsea beating Tottenham is the history of the fixture.<\/p>\n

Spurs have only won once at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League era, with 11 draws and 21 defeats.<\/p>\n

Even when they have been the better team, Tottenham have almost always struggled when travelling to West London.<\/p>\n

Secondly, Chelsea\u2019s defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup final will give them even more motivation to win the game.<\/p>\n

As it stands, the Blues will not be playing in any European competition under Xabi Alonso next season.<\/p>\n

However, if they take all three points on Tuesday, they will have a strong chance of qualifying for the Europa League.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, several players will be desperate to impress new manager Alonso ahead of a summer rebuild.<\/p>\n

The Spaniard is expected to be ruthless when he arrives at Stamford Bridge, letting go of the deadwood in the squad.<\/p>\n

For players like Pedro Neto or Alejandro Garnacho, this could be their penultimate opportunity to prove they should stay.<\/p>\n

While there are no guarantees in football, these three reasons should give West Ham reason to believe in the great escape.<\/p>\n
