Pep Guardiola holds ‘late night group call’ with Man City players to address exit leak<\/span><\/span><\/p>\nThe majority of the City squad are expected to be involved in this summer’s World Cup in North America, which kicks off on June 11. Those involved in the tournament will then be entitled to several weeks break once it has finished.<\/p>\n

Maresca has been out of work since being sacked as Chelsea boss on New Year’s Day. The 46-year-old is close friends with Guardiola, having worked as his assistant at the Etihad between 2022 and 2023. He had previously taken charge of some of the club’s youth teams.<\/p>\n
He won the UEFA Conference League and Club World Cup with Chelsea during his 18 month spell at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n
Guardiola, meanwhile, will celebrate his time in English football with an open top bus parade across Manchester next week. He has won 20 trophies in just 10 years, including both domestic cups this season.<\/p>\n
Thousands are expected to turn out on the streets of Manchester to bid an emotional farewell to him, along with departing duo John Stones and Bernardo Silva.<\/p>\n
