Ramón was highly rated in Madrid’s academy, but his move to Como has given him exactly what young defenders need most: regular senior football. That decision now looks like a smart one, because he has gone from promising prospect to genuine transfer target in the space of one season.

Chelsea’s interest makes sense. The club are expected to strengthen at centre-back this summer, especially with ongoing questions over depth, fitness and long-term balance in defence. Ramón fits the profile they often look for: young, tall, technically secure and already tested in a major European league. At around 6ft 5in, he has the size to handle Premier League football, but he is not just a physical defender. He is comfortable in possession, calm under pressure and capable of playing out from the back.

His season stats help explain why clubs are watching him. Ramón has made around 31 Serie A appearances for Como this campaign, including 29 starts, scoring two goals. Across all competitions, he has been involved in more than 35 matches, which is a strong workload for a defender still only 21. That level of trust says a lot. Young centre-backs are not usually given regular minutes unless coaches believe they can handle mistakes, pressure and tactical responsibility.

The complication is Real Madrid. They sold Ramón to Como, but they kept control of the situation through a buy-back clause and sell-on terms. Madrid are believed to have an option to re-sign him for around €8m, while Como could ask for as much as €50m if another club tries to buy him. That makes the deal messy. Chelsea may be willing to bid, but they need to know whether Real Madrid intend to step in first.

[4

post-10575","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-chelsea
["GET
