West Ham supporters will not enjoy hearing Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira\u2019s latest comments on the relegation battle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Hammers are just one game away from relegation to the Championship after losing to Newcastle at the weekend.<\/p>\n

\n

Tottenham only need to draw one of their last two games (Chelsea away and Everton at home) to stay in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Not only does Vieira expect West Ham to be relegated, but he expects it to happen at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Patrick Vieira says West Ham\u2019s relegation would be \u2018sad\u2019 for Premier League<\/h2>\n

Patrick Vieira has predicted West Ham will be relegated following Tottenham\u2019s game against Chelsea on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Even though Spurs have a shocking record at Stamford Bridge, the Arsenal legend thinks they will get at least a draw.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo. I think Spurs can get something at Stamford Bridge,\u201d Vieira said. \u201cI think West Ham have lost too many games. I see West Ham going down.\u201d<\/p>\n

West Ham fans will not be surprised by Vieira\u2019s verdict, but they might not have expected him to feel sorry for them.<\/p>\n

The former Gunners captain admitted that he would be \u201cdisappointed\u201d to see a \u201chuge club\u201d like West Ham in the Championship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel disappointed because it\u2019s a big club, a huge club in England,\u201d he added. \u201cSeeing them in that position is quite sad, but it\u2019s too late for them to hope to survive.\u201d<\/p>\n

A cynical Hammers supporter may suggest that Vieira is only \u201csad\u201d because Arsenal\u2019s biggest rivals, Tottenham, are staying up.<\/p>\n

Either way, it was nice for a Premier League icon to recognise West Ham as one of the pillars of the English top flight.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, Vieira will be completely wrong about Spurs, and Chelsea will keep the relegation battle alive for a few more days.<\/p>\n

Stranger things have happened than West Ham beating Leeds and Tottenham losing to Everton on the same day.<\/p>\n
