{"id":1110,"date":"2026-04-26T18:18:37","date_gmt":"2026-04-26T18:18:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=1110"},"modified":"2026-04-26T18:18:37","modified_gmt":"2026-04-26T18:18:37","slug":"micky-van-de-ven-delivers-telling-transfer-news-as-liverpool-man-utd-chelsea-circle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=1110","title":{"rendered":"Micky van de Ven delivers telling transfer news as Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea circle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div><!-- Article Start --><\/p>\n<p>Micky van de Ven reportedly has very little intention of penning a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur, with the Netherlands defender edging towards leaving, regardless of relegation.<\/p>\n<p>Despite a dip in form this season, Van de Ven has emerged as one of the top central defenders in the Premier League since his arrival from German outfit Wolfsburg in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>However, with <strong>Tottenham<\/strong> facing the prospect of dropping into the second tier of English football for the first time in almost 50 years, there is plenty of speculation over how many of their star names will move on if the worst happens.<\/p>\n<p>One of those names is, unsurprisingly, <strong>Van de Ven<\/strong>and a fresh report from our friends over at TEAMtalk has delivered an update on the 23-year-old\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE: \u2018Truly terrible to watch\u2019 Xavi Simons slammed over Tottenham histrionics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Despite still being under contract until 2029, which leaves Spurs in a strong in terms of a sellable asset,\u00a0 \u00a0the report states that\u00a0Van de Ven has made it \u2018clear internally that he sees his future away from north London\u2018.<\/p>\n<p>While Tottenham have been trying to persuade the Netherlands international to pen a new contract since the start of 2025, any negotiations have failed to progress, with the \u2018player\u2019s stance hardening over the past 12 months\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The report adds that\u00a0Van de Ven \u2018grew frustrated during Ange Postecoglou\u2019s tenure\u2019, and \u2018matters have not improved under subsequent spells led by Thomas Frank and former interim chief Igor Tudor\u2019.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Clubs queuing up to sign Tottenham star Van de Ven<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>And, while the defender is impressed by what he\u2019s seen from new boss Roberto De Zerbi so far, there is \u2018little expectation that this will change his desire to move on\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, Van de Ven\u2019s representatives have now \u2018made it clear to Tottenham that he would like to leave this summer\u2019, a decision that has alerted a number of clubs to his potential availability.<\/p>\n<p><smartframe-embed customer-id=\"04742eb90cefa12a5e3ab9bae92c2b93\" image-id=\"neim5hJqK7f1\" style=\"width: 100%;
