It\u2019s going to be very difficult for Chelsea fans to buy into the club\u2019s project according to former Premier League winner Tim Sherwood.<\/p>\n

Following the takeover by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital in 2022, the club has completely changed, and not for the better.<\/p>\n

Chelsea have spent nearly \u00a32bn on their squad, and are on the cusp of qualifying for the Champions League once in the last four seasons.<\/p>\n

Tim Sherwood on the Chelsea project<\/h2>\n

Fans are not happy with the ownership and staged a successful protest earlier this month ahead of the defeat against Manchester United.<\/p>\n

Despite winning two trophies last season, Chelsea have taken a step backwards this season, and currently sit eighth in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Both fans and the media aren\u2019t convinced by the so called project, and Chelsea once again face another critical summer.<\/p>\n

They need to appoint a new head coach, and have got to add proven quality to the squad in several key positions.<\/p>\n

Co-owner Behdad Eghbali has insisted the model will be tweaked, but Sherwood has slammed the ownership and claimed Chelsea have become a feeder club.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor <\/span>Chelsea<\/span> fans to buy into the new project is going to be very difficult,\u201d he told Sky Sports as quoted on X.com.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re used to winning the biggest of trophies. They\u2019re effectively a feeder club now; buy young players and let them go when they outgrow the club.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
