Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on an African midfield starlet ahead of the summer transfer window.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spurs have shown with the recent acquisitions of Mason Melia and Souza that they are keeping an eye out for the best young talent around the world.<\/p>\n

Tottenham boast of some extremely talented youngsters in their squad, with big things expected of the likes of Luka Vuskovic, Archie Gray, and Lucas Bergvall.<\/p>\n

The Lilywhites are now looking to add to their stock of talented teens by securing a deal for a midfielder who has shown promise in the Turkish top-flight this season.<\/p>\n

Tottenham are chasing Ousmane Diabate<\/h2>\n

According to Africa Foot (via Sport Witness), Tottenham have expressed an interest in midfielder Ousmane Diabate, who plays for Turkish club Genclerbirligi SK.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old joined the Super Lig side from the Guinean side Academie SOAR in January and has played 397 minutes for his new club since his switch.<\/p>\n

Tottenham have already seen enough to be impressed and have sent their scouts to Turkey to watch Diabate live this season.<\/p>\n

While various clubs from other leagues are also interested in the midfielder, Spurs\u2019 interest is described as \u2018strong\u2019, with the Lilywhites viewing the youngster as a bet for the future.<\/p>\n

How Diabate\u2019s entourage have reacted to Spurs\u2019 interest<\/h2>\n

Africa Foot say that Tottenham have also held talks with Genclerbirligi, who would not oppose a sale of the Guinea starlet if a suitable offer arrives.<\/p>\n

The outlet also spoke to an unnamed member of the youngster\u2019s entourage, who admitted that there is excitement at Tottenham\u2019s interest in the youngster.<\/p>\n

The source told the publication: \u201cThis also explains the growing interest from Tottenham, as well as that of other European clubs. But the English club seems particularly determined to sign Ousmane Diabat\u00e9. We were delighted to see Tottenham travel to watch him play.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis means a lot to us. Discussions with the London club are ongoing, and we hope to reach a positive agreement. For now, Tottenham is still in a phase of observing and monitoring the player.\u201d<\/p>\n
