Chelsea have finally received some good news involving Estevao and his return from injury.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian suffered a hamstring tear against Manchester United last month, an injury which ruled him out for the remainder of the season and cost him a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad.<\/p>\n

That setback was undeniably cruel given the excitement surrounding what he could do on the world’s biggest stage. <\/p>\n

Nevertheless, with the youngster set to continue his recovery over the next few weeks, Chelsea have learned roughly when they can expect him back, and it’s good news for the incoming Xabi Alonso.<\/p>\n

Chelsea expecting Estevao back for pre-season<\/h2>\n
<\/p>\n
According to BBC Sport, the Blues are optimistic Estevao will recover in time for their pre-season which starts on July 28 and will see the side tour Australia and Asia.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The 19-year-old’s return timeline, should it stay that way, will be a huge boost for both the player and the club.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Hamstring injuries can often become complicated problems for younger explosive attackers, particularly when clubs rush their returns, so Chelsea will undoubtedly remain careful with Estevao over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
At the same time, returning for pre-season would allow the teenager time to get to know Alonso before the new season begins.<\/p>\n

Alonso\u2019s tactical philosophy could see him use natural wingers in a more hybrid role. Estevao, along with Geovany Quenda, are likely to be crucial to this new style of play.<\/p>\n

And after the disappointment of missing out on Brazil’s final 26-man World Cup squad, Estevao’s full focus will now be on maximising his recovery as he prepares for his second season at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

After Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill and Joao Pedro were excluded from England and Brazil’s World Cup squads, Alonso will be able to give a fair few players the summer off.<\/p>\n

Although the trio, along with Estevao, will be bitterly disappointed not to be on their country’s plane to North America, there is no denying their omissions are good news for Chelsea.<\/p>\n

There is so much football played nowadays that fixture congestion and players being overworked is a genuine problem. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Many of the Premier League’s best players will all be in action over the summer \u2014 some will go the distance \u2014 and that could prove decisive once the 2026-27 season kicks off, and hopefully to Chelsea’s advantage.<\/p>\n
