With Xabi Alonso being appointed the new manager, this was supposed to be the summer when Chelsea strengthened the squad and got back to at least becoming a regular Champions League side, if not contenders yet. But instead of that, over the last few days, all the talk has been about the club\u2019s best players leaving.<\/p>\n

Enzo Fernandez looks likely to make an exit. There have even been some suggestions that the club are open to the idea. The Argentine\u2019s departure would bring in a significant transfer fee which would help rebuild the squad. It remains to be seen if that speculation is accurate or not.<\/p>\n

Of course, if that happens, alarm bells would start ringing among the fanbase. It would be a clear sign that Chelsea have now reached a point where they are a club that needs to let their best players go in order to keep things running. That would be a catastrophic failure on the part of BlueCo, who have wasted so much money on building a squad that simply cannot win consistently.<\/p>\n

Chelsea\u2019s stance on letting Pedro join Barcelona<\/h2>\n

Fernandez is not the only top Chelsea player being linked with a move away. Joao Pedro is another one. But in the case of the Brazilian, it appears that the Blues have adopted a different stance, even though there have been some reports suggesting the player is open to the prospect.<\/p>\n

According to Mundo Deportivo, right now, they have no news that\u00a0Chelsea want to part with Pedro. No offer has been made to the club, but at Barcelona, there is information that the camps of the players transmit.<\/p>\n

That would be the right decision on the part of Chelsea. There is no way that they should consider the departure of Pedro this summer, even if they are able to sign someone like Victor Osimhen or Julian Alvarez.<\/p>\n

Why Chelsea can sign a top striker without letting Pedro go<\/h2>\n

Striker is one position where Chelsea do have a decent amount of talent, moving whom could fund the next acquisition. Liam Delap was signed for \u00a330 million. The club will be hoping to recoup that if they move him on. The option to buy in Nicolas Jackson\u2019s deal was around \u00a356 million, which is probably what the Blues will be looking for. And considering his strong end to the season at Bayern Munich, that is not an unreasonable ask either.<\/p>\n

Marc Guiu is also an interesting name. But he was signed for around \u00a35 million. So, making a transfer profit should not be difficult.<\/p>\n

So, let\u2019s see what the future holds for the striker position at Chelsea. But one player that the club should not absolute consider letting go is Pedro.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
