But he\u2019s a Chelsea legend without question.<\/p>\n In some ways, his impact has been more notable in the years since he left than when he was here. It\u2019s no coincidence that the relentless winning attitude that was born with Jose Mourinho, Frank Lampard, John Terry and co. and lived on through Azpi had has died away rapidly since his departure.<\/p>\n He embodied the high standards, the leadership, the commitment, the experience and the personality that this team now desperately lack.<\/p>\n One person who is conscious of Azpilicueta\u2019s impact on him personally is Reece James, who took over the captaincy from the Spaniard and played alongside him 85 times. The full back spoke warmly about what he learned from Azpi:<\/p>\n \u201cI learned from just the way he applied himself,\u201d James said in quotes on the club\u2019s official website.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHis application day in, day out, whether he was playing or not playing.
