Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness has been talking up the potential impact of the new coach.<\/p>\n \u201cWhereas Liam Rosenior was probably too compliant. I don\u2019t think Xabi Alonso will be,\u201d Wyness said in quotes picked up by Football Insider.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAlonso will want to do things, and set his stamp on it from day one. You may see a new invigorated Chelsea and there will be a belief that this is a manager that finally understands them, is a player\u2019s player and will be able to read players much better and get this big collection of talent they\u2019ve got finally sparking.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s hope for Chelsea next season to really be competing at the top end.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s the most optimistic version possible \u2013 but he\u2019s saying all the things we\u2019re hoping.
