{"id":13222,"date":"2026-05-29T17:37:54","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T17:37:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=13222"},"modified":"2026-05-29T17:37:54","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T17:37:54","slug":"stats-teams-to-have-won-domestic-and-euro-double-stats-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=13222","title":{"rendered":"Stats: Teams to have won domestic and Euro double | Stats | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>We head to Budapest this weekend to take on Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final, with history in our sights.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll be taking part in just our second European Cup final, and after already clinching the Premier League title, we have the chance to join a very exclusive list.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s because since the continental competition was rebranded in 1992\/93, only two other English clubs have won the Premier League and Champions League in the same season.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United have achieved it twice, firstly in 1998\/99 and then again in 2007\/08, overcoming Chelsea in the final in Moscow. Manchester City are the other side to do it in 2022\/23, beating Inter Milan 1-0 in Istanbul.<\/p>\n<p>Across the European Cup era stretching back to the 1950s, only one other English club has done the same: Liverpool in 1977 and 1984.
