Having made over 200 appearances for us across six-and-a-half years, Caitlin Foord is extending her stay at the club.<\/p>\n

The Australian winger initially joined us from Portland Thorns back in 2020, and has gone on to achieve League Cup, Champions League and Champions Cup success with us since.<\/p>\n

So what does it mean to Caitlin, who has fully settled into life at Arsenal, to be looking towards the next chapter?<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m extremely excited to be staying here,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ve spent a lot of my last few years here and to still have a desire and taste to want to win more and to lift trophies with this club is incredible, which we’ve done a couple of times in the past. There’s a few more left to do and I just really want to be a part of that and help the team get there.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’ve come so close the last couple of years, especially in the league and that’s what I haven’t done since I’ve been here in my six-and-a-half years. League Cup as well and of course the Champions League when we’ve done that, it was so special. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo to be so close again and to almost do it again, I think that’s something, you know, you get a taste of lifting trophies and you want to do it more and more. So yes, that’s definitely a driving factor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Caitlin Foord signs new contract <\/span>

Caitlin was pivotal to our Champions Cup success last season, scoring the winning goal in the final against Corinthians as we became champions of the world for the inaugural competition.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a nice feeling,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI mean, as a forward, you want to be scoring and assisting goals and playing your part. So I was glad to obviously do my part in that game. But again, I’m hungry for more of that as well. Just really excited for the next couple of years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it’s my home away from home to be here and to be with all the girls for such a long time. I have settled in and it’s nice to be in the one place and to have the one focus here at the club. It feels nice, so I’m happy to be here a couple more years.<\/p>\n

\u201cMyself and Steph included, we kind of have travelled our whole careers and to finally be settled in one place and to be happy in one place, I think that’s always worked for me. When I’m at my happiest, I play my best football and I feel that here. I’m ready to still give more and I still believe I can give more as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

So what is Caitlin looking forward to most about being part of the next chapter, and what\u2019s her message to the supporters who follow us over land and sea?<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it’s just to drive for more to win more trophies,\u201d she said. As we’ve touched on, we’ve been so close and it’s in reaching distance. I think it’s now about going that one step further and finally getting our hands on those trophies we’ve come so close to. I believe we can do it and I’m ready to give everything to achieve it as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fans have been absolutely incredible throughout my whole career and beyond, obviously. But to see how many of them turn up week in, week out, home or away, it\u2019s so special to walk out in front of them. That’s one massive reason why I want to stay at this club as well, the support we have. You want to give more to them and they deserve more as well. So yes, I just want to be a part of that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
