Lucas Bergvall\u2019s future has come under fresh scrutiny as Tottenham Hotspur battle to avoid relegation, with interest from Premier League rivals raising new questions ahead of the summer window.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lucas Bergvall has had his struggles this season and has yet to reach the levels of the last campaign, where he was Spurs\u2019 best player, clean sweeping the season awards.<\/p>\n

Bergvall\u2019s stellar 2024-25 campaign saw Tottenham reward him with a lengthy contract extension, with the midfielder putting pen to paper on a six-year deal.<\/p>\n

However, the future of the Swedish star is now in doubt. Back in January, Spurs Web reported that both Chelsea and Aston Villa made moves to sign Bergvall from Tottenham, but their attempts did not yield any results, with the 20-year-old staying put.<\/p>\n

A lot has changed since the winter window on the pitch for Tottenham, as they now run the risk of relegation, sitting in the bottom three of the Premier League table.<\/p>\n

Going down to the Championship could force a mass exodus, and now Football Insider has revealed how likely it is for Bergvall to move away from Spurs this summer. <\/p>\n

According to the publication, it is understood that Bergvall has no plans to leave Tottenham for Chelsea or Aston Villa, even if Spurs are able to avoid relegation from the Premier League.<\/p>\n

The midfielder is understood to be happy in north London and will not push to leave to join the likes of Chelsea or Villa. <\/p>\n

Explaining the situation, Pete O\u2019Rourke told Football Insider that Tottenham would be reluctant to lose him to rivals, adding: \u201cThey (Tottenham) really would not want to see Bergvall move to some of their rivals in Chelsea or Aston Villa.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith Tottenham, all the focus is on staying in the Premier League, as then they will not have to bat off this interest in some of their players.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they do suffer relegation, it is going to be a real battle to keep hold of some of their best players, and Bergvall, I am sure, will attract a lot of interest.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think right now he is under a long-term contract and it does seem Bergvall is happy at Tottenham and will be happy to stay if they do secure Premier League survival.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spurs face a defining run amid relegation pressure<\/h2>\n

Tottenham now have four games to go before the season ends. Should they fail to outperform West Ham, they will be in the Championship next campaign.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, in their final four games, Spurs still have to face both Aston Villa and Chelsea, who could compound the misery of the Lilywhites should they beat them.<\/p>\n

The Blues have sacked their former manager, Liam Rosenior, and that could make it tricky for Spurs, who could be victims of a new manager bounce. <\/p>\n

The margin for error is now slim for Tottenham, especially as their relegation rivals are finding form at this stage of the season.<\/p>\n
