{"id":15173,"date":"2026-07-07T22:09:24","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T22:09:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=15173"},"modified":"2026-07-07T22:09:24","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T22:09:24","slug":"romano-says-blueco-will-send-new-official-bid-for-defender-after-reaching-agreement-on-terms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=15173","title":{"rendered":"Romano says BlueCo will \u2018send new official bid\u2019 for defender after reaching \u2018agreement on terms\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div><!-- Article Start --><\/p>\n<p>Chelsea are determined to add Pep Chavarria to manager Xabi Alonso\u2019s squad, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the club\u2019s owners, BlueCo, are planning to make a second bid for the Rayo Vallecano star.<\/p>\n<p>Marc Cucurella was the number one right-back for <strong>Chelsea<\/strong>who were planning for the Spain international left-back to be part of Alonso\u2019s squad for the 2026\/27 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>However, <strong>Real Madrid came calling and snapped up Cucurella<\/strong>who is starring for Spain at the ongoing 2026 World Cup.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chelsea, though, have signed Marco Palestra from Atalanta<\/strong>but the 21-year-old Italy international is a right-sided player by trade.<\/p>\n<p>The London club are still looking for a specialist left-back, with Rayo star Chavarria a top target.<\/p>\n<p>It was <em>Mark<\/em> that first reported Chelsea\u2019s desire to sign Chavarria on June 28, and the situation has developed rapidly since then.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ: The 20 most expensive strikers ever: Two former Man United stars make up half the top ten<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chelsea have had their first offer for Chavarria turned down<\/strong>with <em>Sports World<\/em> reporting that Rayo had rejected the initial bid of \u20ac9million (\u00a37.7m).<\/p>\n<p>On July 1, <em>TEAMtalk<\/em> reported that \u2018Chavarria has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Teacher transfer <strong>Fabrizio Romano<\/strong>too, confirmed on the same day that a deal is in place between the left-back and Chelsea.<\/p>\n<p><smartframe-embed customer-id=\"84d65181a95c24c4fea73e44b4e27a17\" image-id=\"ltKDkowPcFh4\" style=\"width: 100%;
