According to Fabrizio Romano, Como president Mirwan Suwarso called his Inter Milan counterpart Giuseppe Marotta directly to lay out his club’s position. <\/span><\/p>\n Suwarso made clear Como have no intention of pursuing Chalobah if Inter decide to make a serious move, wanting to preserve good relations with the reigning champions rather than force the price up further by competing against them. Como had already seen a \u20ac25m offer for the 26-year-old rejected by Chelsea in recent weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n Chalobah’s camp are in talks with Inter, who are understood to hold the priority given the player’s own preference for a move to Milan. Inter have, however, put the deal on hold for now while they focus on completing a transfer for Anan Khalaili to fill the right-back vacancy left by Denzel Dumfries’ departure to Real Madrid, with the defensive reinforcement expected to follow once that business is resolved.<\/span><\/p>\n Should Inter formally enter the race, Como are set to switch their attention to Davinson Sanchez, who remains their leading alternative in central defence. The Galatasaray defender missed a penalty in Colombia’s World Cup shootout defeat to Switzerland but is seen at Como as a well-defined option should Chalobah move elsewhere. <\/span><\/p>\n For Chelsea, selling Chalobah would also help fund a separate move for Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix, with the London club working to reshape their own backline this summer.<\/span><\/p>\n The episode is the latest in a series of crossed paths between Como and Inter in the transfer market, following the Nerazzurri’s separate reported interest in Nico Paz and now Khalaili.
