{"id":16597,"date":"2026-07-12T05:56:34","date_gmt":"2026-07-12T05:56:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=16597"},"modified":"2026-07-12T05:56:34","modified_gmt":"2026-07-12T05:56:34","slug":"xabi-alonso-insists-blueco-sign-e50m-real-madrid-star-after-first-offer-rejected","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=16597","title":{"rendered":"Xabi Alonso \u2018insists\u2019 BlueCo sign \u20ac50m Real Madrid star after first \u2018offer\u2019 rejected"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div><!-- Article Start --><\/p>\n<p>Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is keen on adding Real Madrid left-back Alvaro Carreras to his squad at Stamford Bridge, according to a report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alonso<\/strong> worked with <strong>Racing<\/strong> at Madrid for the first half of last season, having been appointed in the role as Los Blancos manager at the end of the 2024\/25 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The former Liverpool midfielder parted company with <strong>Real Madrid<\/strong> in January 2026 and was recently appointed as the new Chelsea manager.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>Sport<\/em>Alonso has told Chelsea to sign Carreras and is insisting on a deal for the Spanish left-back.<\/p>\n<p>The Barcelona-leaning publication has claimed that <strong>Chelsea<\/strong> have had an initial offer for the former Manchester United prospect rejected.<\/p>\n<p>The headline of the report reads: \u2018Xabi Alonso insists on Alvaro Carreras\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ: Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea deals among five transfers scuppered by failed medicals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The report itself has stated: \u2018The Spanish manager asked to explore his signing as soon as he arrived at Chelsea with a lowball offer that he is now willing to improve.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>Sport<\/em>even though Carreras did not have the best of times in the second half of the season, Alonso has full faith in the 23-year-old left-back and wants Chelsea owners, BlueCo, to sign him in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea have an offer of \u20ac25million (\u00a321.3m) for Carreras already rejected by Madrid, who value him at \u20ac50m (\u00a342.6m).<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Xabi Alonso wants Alvaro Carreras at Chelsea<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The report has stated: \u2018Xabi Alonso never doubted him.
