Andrey Santos has said he can’t wait to represent the club of his ‘biggest idols’ after signing for Manchester United from Chelsea.<\/b><\/div>\n

Manchester United have completed the \u00a350m signing of the midfielder from Chelsea, with Santos signing a contract until June 2031 at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old arrives after a frustrating spell in West London, with a desire for more minutes a big factor behind his decision to leave for Manchester.<\/p>\n

He has become Michael Carrick’s first signing as permanent manager of Manchester United and said he is excited to learn from the head coach and compete for the ‘biggest trophies’.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything about Manchester United is special; it is an incredible feeling to join a club that some of my biggest idols have represented,” Santos told manutd.com at his unveiling.<\/div>\n

\u201cAs a midfielder, I am really excited to have the opportunity to learn from Michael Carrick, he is the perfect coach to help me take the next step in my career and push to achieve my dreams.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody told me about how ambitious the club is and the amazing environment that has been created here. I know just how strong the squad is and I cannot wait to fight together to compete for the biggest trophies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manchester United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, said Santos had been a key target for the club as the Red Devils rebuild in midfield.<\/p>\n

He believes the eight-cap Brazil international has ‘enormous potential’ to develop into a top-tier talent.<\/p>\n

\u201cAndrey is an outstanding midfielder with excellent technical qualities and the ability to impact the game at both ends of the pitch.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a key target for us in an important position, so we are delighted that he will join Michael\u2019s squad so early in pre-season.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite already having extensive experience, leadership abilities and proving his talent at the highest level, Andrey still has enormous potential to develop further, and we cannot wait to see him flourish at Manchester United.\u201d<\/p>\n
