Highly rated young CHELSEA<\/strong> forward Jesse Derry has completed a season-long loan move to Portuguese giants Sporting CP for the 2026\/27 campaign, describing the transfer as an \u201camazing opportunity\u201d and admitting he is excited to begin the next chapter of his career.<\/p>\n The move sees Derry join one of Portugal\u2019s most decorated clubs, with Sporting believing the talented attacker will benefit from regular first-team football in one of Europe\u2019s most competitive leagues. The loan agreement is expected to provide the youngster with valuable experience as he continues his development.<\/p>\n Speaking after completing the switch, Derry could not hide his enthusiasm about the move: \u201cIt\u2019s an incredible feeling. I\u2019m really looking forward to getting out on the pitch and playing in front of all the fans.<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t wait to get started. My first reaction when I heard of Sporting CP\u2019s interest, I was very excited,\u201d he told the club\u2019s media.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I think of Sporting CP, I think of players who wow the fans and young players. Coming here was a very easy decision. It means everything to be here. I know how much this club represents to Sportinguistas and I\u2019m prepared to always give my best.<\/p>\n \u2018I know that Sporting CP creates different kinds of players, capable of expressing themselves on the pitch. I feel it will be the perfect place for me,\u201d he underlined.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel very good. It\u2019s a new city and, in these first few days, I\u2019ve been taking advantage of the opportunity to start exploring it. I\u2019m also eager to start working with all the players and the coach.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI like to excite the fans, express myself, and score goals. There\u2019s always room for improvement. I hope playing in front of the fans here will help me evolve week after week. I can\u2019t wait,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n \u201cI decided to come to Sporting CP to try and help the club win trophies. I know that\u2019s the main ambition here and that\u2019s what I want to do too. I can\u2019t wait to get out there at the stadium.
