Ren\u00e9e Slegers labelled our ability to start and end games strongly as one of our super strengths in her pre-Leicester City press conference on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The head coach was responding to a question about how we\u2019ll set-up against the Foxes on Wednesday, and if there will be much rotation from our 2-1 win over Lyon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are always strong, and that’s, again, the strength of our squad, the power of our togetherness, the different qualities and the different tools that we have in the squad,\u201d she said. \u201cSo we have to start well, we have to finish well, and we have to look at what Leicester is going to do. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a midweek game for them as well. They don’t do much of this, so let\u2019s see how they manage, we won’t know until tomorrow. So we plan for scenarios, and again, I think that’s been a super strength of ours, how we start and finish games.<\/p>\n

Manchester City dropped points in the Barclays Women\u2019s Super League title race with defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, so all we can do now with three games in hand is focus on taking care of our own business.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, we follow the league because it’s our context,\u201d Ren\u00e9e added. \u201cWe look at what’s happening around us. At the same time, we’re so focused on ourselves. We know we have three games in hand. They’re all difficult, challenging games. We have to look at what we can do. As long as it’s theoretically possible, we’ll push everything we can. Again, that starts with us and what we can do. That starts tomorrow.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Leicester are fighting for their lives. We’ll see that mentality on the pitch tomorrow. We’ll have to be prepared for that. We know how they want to play their football. They\u2019ll add a couple of percentages if that’s the context and the situation. We’ll have to be at our very best tomorrow. They’ll be fighting. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere are, of course, play-offs between WSL and WSL2 at the end of the season. That’s their context. Every team is hoping and fighting to compete at the very highest level. That’s their context. Our context is that we’re in a spot and we want to keep putting pressure on. We want to do what we can do and get our points, as many points as possible, in these last five games remaining.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
