In a recent report, A Bola claimed that Chelsea are locked in a three-way battle for Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup this summer. It is understood that the Blues would have to compete with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in the race to sign the Norwegian wide player this off-season.<\/p>\n

Schjelderup\u2019s Impressive Record In Portuguese Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Schjelderup enjoyed a decent run of form at the Portuguese club in the previous campaign when he produced a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 22-year-old scored ten times and picked up seven assists in 43 matches for Benfica last season across all competitions.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian talent is currently among the best young wide players in Liga Portugal. Hence, it is no wonder that the Blues are in the race to acquire his services in this transfer period.<\/p>\n

His current contract at Benfica will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Chelsea to land him on the cheap later this year.<\/p>\n

Chelsea Are Locked In A Three-Way Battle For Schjelderup: Is He Worth The Fight?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Schjelderup is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with the ball out in the wide areas. He has got the eye to play some killer passes in and around the opponent\u2019s penalty area. Schjelderup can shoot the ball with power from long range.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian talent already added a lot of goals and assists to his game last season. However, Schjelderup is still unproven at the highest level. Furthermore, he would need time to adapt to life in the Premier League if the Blues manage to land him in this summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

We can expect Schjelderup to bring more quality and depth to Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso\u2019s attack. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting spot at the West London club next season.<\/p>\n
