It is too soon to suggest the battle to sign West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville is a \u2018one horse race\u2019, but a pedigree stallion in the shape of Arsenal will not be sticking around for a photo finish. <\/strong><\/p>\n

It was reported at the end of June \u2013 while Summerville was earning rave reviews at the World Cup \u2013 that the reigning Premier League champions had added the speedy Dutchman to their summer wishlist.<\/p>\n

Much to the relief of Holland legend Ruud Gullit \u2013 the former Chelsea ace could not resist a dig at the Gunners while urging Crysencio Summerville go to somewhere, anywhere <\/em>else \u2013 Arsenal were not in contention for long.<\/p>\n

Per Sky Sports, Arsenal have agreed a \u00a334 million deal with Club Brugge to sign Christos Tzolis. <\/p>\n

On the back of a frankly obscene tally of 22 goals and 29 assists in 52 games last season, one-time Norwich City prospect Tzolis moves to the Emirates as a replacement for the Besiktas-bound Leandro Trossard.<\/p>\n

This also ensures that, as West Ham United wait for offers to roll in, Arsenal will not be one of the club\u2019s triggering the \u00a350 million release clause in Summerville\u2019s contract.<\/p>\n

Hammers News <\/strong>revealed recently that Summerville can leave the London Stadium for \u00a350 million, rather than the \u00a340 million claimed in other publications. The former Leeds winger has made Manchester United his top priority.<\/p>\n

Then again, so did Mateus Fernandes, and we all know how that turned out.<\/p>\n

Man United must move Marcus Rashford out of Old Trafford before they can step up their interest in a potential successor. With Rashford on an eye-watering \u00a3300,000-a-week, however, this is easier said than done.<\/p>\n

The feeling right now is that Rashford is likely to be reintegrated into Michael Carrick\u2019s plans \u2013 albeit largely because of a lack of offers \u2013 thus leaving Summerville in the lurch somewhat.<\/p>\n

Like Arsenal, Liverpool appear to have removed their hat from the ring. Liverpool signed a right-footed left-winger of their own in \u00a335 million Spaniard Victor Munoz. Arsenal have now done the same with Tzolis.<\/p>\n

Aston Villa are emerging as a realistic option for Summerville <\/h2>\n

Links with Tottenham have grown cold, PSG still have a Bradley Barcola situation to solve, while long-time admirers Roma are in the process of identifying alternatives. <\/p>\n

Reports in Italy say that the Yellow and red <\/em>have agreed personal terms with Strasbourg speedster Diego Moreira while offering a package worth \u00a335 million for Chelsea\u2019s dreadlocked-disaster Alejandro Garnacho.<\/p>\n

Because of that \u00a350 million release clause, West Ham are unlikely to accept the \u00a338 million bid Roma are alledgely planning, per Gianluca di Marzio. <\/p>\n

The answer to the Summerville saga may lie elsewhere in Di Marzio\u2019s report; Aston Villa. Despite their well-publicised FFP issues, Villa reportedly have \u00a3100 million to spend, in addition to a lack of touchline-treading, chalk-booted widemen.<\/p>\n

Arsenal and Liverpool have both moved for alternatives. Man United and PSG are stuck until they know what the future holds for Rashford and Barcola. Tottenham appear to have other priorities. That \u00a350 million clause is probably too rich for Roman blood.<\/p>\n

So, is Summerville destined to swap one claret and blue kit for another? <\/p>\n
