{"id":18180,"date":"2026-07-17T08:50:36","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T08:50:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=18180"},"modified":"2026-07-17T08:50:36","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T08:50:36","slug":"mohamed-salah-opens-door-to-shock-chelsea-return-after-liverpool-exit-read-chelsea-f-c","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=18180","title":{"rendered":"Mohamed Salah opens door to shock Chelsea return after Liverpool exit &#8211; Read Chelsea F.C."},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mohamed Salah would reportedly be open to returning to Chelsea following his Liverpool departure, although no talks are currently taking place.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 34-year-old is available as a free agent after bringing his successful nine-year spell at Anfield to an end.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Egyptian broadcaster ONTime Sports claims Salah has told friends that he would consider returning to Stamford Bridge if Chelsea made an approach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report adds that Chelsea would be the only English club he would contemplate joining this summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, there is currently no contact, offer or negotiation between Chelsea and Salah\u2019s representatives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Sun has also carried the Egyptian report, describing Chelsea as Salah\u2019s preferred option should he remain in the Premier League.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">According to @ONTimeSports, a big Egyptian TV channel, there is nothing between Salah and Chelsea, but if Chelsea were to make an offer, Salah has told friends that he would be open to making a return, and Chelsea would be the only English team he would do that for. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zqzgX5kY4o\">pic.twitter.com\/zqzgX5kY4o<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Pys (@CFCPys) July 14, 2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chelsea face major Salah decision<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salah previously joined Chelsea from Basel in January 2014 but struggled for regular opportunities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He later rebuilt his career during spells with Fiorentina and Roma before joining Liverpool in 2017.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salah leaves Anfield as one of the Premier League\u2019s most decorated forwards, having won two league titles and the Champions League.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His age and wage demands would make a deal very different from Chelsea\u2019s usual recruitment model. However, Xabi Alonso\u2019s young squad lacks an attacker with Salah\u2019s experience and proven output.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Read Chelsea previously examined, the Blues have already been linked with adding a more established Premier League forward to support their developing attackers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salah would arrive without a transfer fee, although his salary would still represent a major commitment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chelsea have not shown they intend to pursue the opportunity.
