Carlton Cole has made an interesting comparison between West Ham\u2019s Dinos Mavropanos and John Terry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mavropanos struggled in his first 18 months at the London Stadium before his recent turnaround under Nuno Espirito Santo.<\/p>\n

Dinos Mavropanos explains John Terry-like set-piece dominance<\/h2>\n

Cole and Mavropanos recently discussed West Ham\u2019s improvement under Nuno, especially at set pieces.<\/p>\n

Mavropanos\u2019 aerial dominance in both boxes has been a key aspect of several of the Hammers\u2019 impressive results.<\/p>\n

The Greek international has scored headed goals against Manchester City and Wolves in the last six weeks.<\/p>\n

Cole named John Terry and James Collins as the only two players he has seen with an aerial threat similar to Mavropanos\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only other player I remember who was as good as you\u2026 I\u2019ll actually name two: John Terry, whom I played with, and Ginger (James Collins).<\/p>\n

\u201cYou guys have a ball magnet, so it comes to your head. It\u2019s a skill,\u201d the former Hammers striker admitted on the Iron Cast Podcast.<\/p>\n

Mavropanos also explained how he has become more impactful from set pieces during Nuno\u2019s tenure at the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really think now I understand better the players who take the set pieces,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s a little bit of timing and feeling, and I just try to go to every single ball, so it\u2019s a mix of everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: Nuno puts a lot of emphasis on this, especially on set pieces, because it\u2019s a moment that can change the game and is really important\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be honest, I love heading the ball, too! \u201cI don\u2019t know; maybe the ball has a magnet on me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mavropanos will need to continue in the same vein if West Ham are to avoid relegation from the Premier League.<\/p>\n

He could face physical strikers in each of the Hammers\u2019 four remaining fixtures (Brentford, Arsenal, Newcastle and Leeds).<\/p>\n
