Enzo Fernandez’s chances of joining Real Madrid may have been damaged after his brother put the boot in on Jude Bellingham following Argentina’s World Cup victory over England.<\/p>\n
The Chelsea midfielder has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu, where he would join forces with Bellingham. It was Fernandez who scored Argentina’s equaliser as Thomas Tuchel’s ultra-defensive tactics after taking the lead backfired in Wednesday’s semi-final.<\/p>\n
Given the lingering tension and animosity between the two countries, the Argentine players celebrated wildly, as did fans and their family members. But Seba Fernandez went one step further by sharing a picture of of Enzo celebrating with Bellingham on the floor on his Instagram story with the caption: “Hahaha Bye, Bellingham.”<\/p>\n

One said: “Bellingham much better than Enzo and you say bye bye.”<\/p>\n
Another added: “Bellingham, you’re light-years and years better than Enzo, and you’re saying goodbye? You’re really ridiculous.”<\/p>\n
A third posted: “Brother laughing at Bellingham on his stories, who plays at the club where Enzo is dragging to be. You don’t have greatness or class to play in Madrid.”<\/p>\n

Those replies came on a more sensible post from Seba, who paid an emotional tribute to his sibling after Argentina’s win. He wrote: “I’m lost for words to describe just how proud and happy I am. The professional you are, brother, and the performance you put in today, it’s fair to say you\u2019re making history. I love you, and may God continue to bless you abundantly @\u200cenzojfernandez.”<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, Real Madrid released a statement denying they were trying to sign Fernandez. It read: “In light of the information and statements that have emerged in recent days regarding an alleged interest from Real Madrid CF in the player Enzo Fernandez, the club wishes to state that it has not made any efforts, either directly or indirectly, aimed at signing the aforementioned player and, furthermore, has no intention of pursuing such an operation.<\/p>\n

“Real Madrid wishes to express its utmost respect for Enzo Fernandez, a great footballer whose career and quality are widely recognised, as well as for Chelsea FC, a club with which it maintains an excellent institutional relationship.”<\/p>\n
New boss Xabi Alonso has insisted the Blues are keen to hang onto Fernandez. He said: “Yes, we have spoken. But as you can understand, what we have spoken about remains private. But yes, we have spoken.”<\/p>\n
Asked if he would like Fernandez to remain at Stamford Bridge, Alonso replied: “Yes.”<\/p>\n
Fernandez is one of four Chelsea players still involved in the World Cup alongside England duo Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah and France’s Malo Gusto, who will be involved in Saturday’s bronze medal match in Miami.<\/p>\n
