Joe Cole has put forward Oliver Glasner\u2019s name as a \u2018good shout\u2019 to manage Chelsea \u2013 and believes the Crystal Palace boss would jump at the chance to take charge this summer.<\/p>\n

Chelsea find themselves without a permanent head coach once again following\u00a0Liam Rosenior\u2019s sacking, with Calum McFarlane taking over the reins on a temporary basis for the second time in the space of just four months.<\/p>\n

Results had nosedived towards the end of Rosenior\u2019s reign and a\u00a0crushing 3-0 defeat away to Brighton\u00a0\u2013 the club\u2019s fifth loss in as many games \u2013 proved the final straw for Stamford Bridge bosses.<\/p>\n

After picking up the pieces,\u00a0McFarlane steered to a 1-0 victory over Leeds in Sunday\u2019s gritty FA Cup semi-final at Wembley\u00a0\u2013 and the 40-year-old is expected to lead the side out again in this year\u2019s showpiece event against\u00a0Manchester City\u00a0on May 16.<\/p>\n

Chelsea\u2019s hierarchy are eager to secure a deal for Rosenior\u2019s full-time replacement sooner rather than later, though, and Glasner \u2013 who will leave Crystal Palace this summer \u2013 is one of a number of candidates reportedly being considered by the Blues.<\/p>\n

The likes of Andoni Iraola, Felipe Luis and Cesc Fabregas have also been heavily linked in recent days, though the latter appeared to have ruled himself out the running after underlining his commitment to Como last Friday.<\/p>\n

\u2018Glasner is a good shout because he\u2019s not in that bracket where he\u2019s top. He\u2019d still look at the Chelsea job and go, \u201cThat\u2019s a step up from Eintracht Frankfurt and Palace\u201d,\u2019 ex-Chelsea winger Cole said on The Dressing Room Podcast. <\/p>\n

\u2018But I think if you\u2019re the Chelsea manager, unless they\u2019re going to throw money at it, and I think the money has run out, whatever noises come out and whatever PR comes out, they\u2019re isn\u2019t going to be hundreds of millions spent this summer. It doesn\u2019t make sense financially.<\/p>\n

\u2018So they\u2019ve got to find someone who can get a grip. Glasner is a good shout and he would want it.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t even look at the top managers like Luis Enrique, if he\u2019s leaving (Paris Saint-Germain). I threw Xabi Alonso\u2019s name in because of how well he\u2019s done, but even him\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n

According to Cole, Fabregas would be another \u2018interesting\u2019 option should a deal for the Spaniard become realistic down the line.<\/p>\n

\u2018Cesc is another one but you\u2019d still be giving it to a manager with inexperience. But with Cesc, he knows more than anyone what elite football looks like,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s not like Liam (Rosenior), who has come in as a young manager. Enzo Maresca played at Juventus but he was there for a brief period of time.<\/p>\n

\u2018Cesc was one of the best players we\u2019ve seen in the league so I think the Cesc one is interesting because he might be in the right (place).\u2019<\/p>\n

In his column for Paddy Power this week, Cole encouraged Frank Lampard to \u2018stay away\u2019 from the idea of a return for a third spell as manager at Stamford Bridge, despite his success with Coventry City.<\/p>\n

\u2018Frank should stay away from it (the\u00a0Chelsea\u00a0job). The temptation for Frank, because he loves the club, would be to come back and give it another whirl,\u2019 the three-time Premier League winner wrote.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s done a fantastic job at Coventry. Nobody would have backed Coventry for promotion at the start of the season.\u2019<\/p>\n

Chelsea will look to build on their FA Cup semi-final performance against Leeds when they return to Premier League action at home to Nottingham Forest next Monday.<\/p>\n

The Blues\u2019 five-game losing streak leaves the club languishing down in eighth place in the table, but victory over Forest could see them leapfrog Bournemouth and Brighton into sixth.<\/p>\n
