Crysencio Summerville’s imminent West Ham exit may have been handed yet another interesting twist.<\/div>\n

The winger’s proposed move away from east London is quickly turning into something of a transfer saga.<\/p>\n

Summerville has is one of several West Ham players expected to leave London Stadium this summer, with the Hammers originally holding out for around \u00a350m for his signature.<\/div>\n

Recent reports have suggested Roma are the most likely to win the race for his services, having already submitted an official bid.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week it was claimed Summerville has a \u00a338.2m release clause in his contract, which is set to expire on July 27.<\/div>\n
Roma have reportedly offered around \u00a334m, but could increase that bid in the coming days.<\/div>\n
Meanwhile, interest from Manchester United and Aston Villa isn’t going away with both clubs interested in joining the race for Summerville’s services.<\/div>\n

Given the expiry date on Summerville’s reported release clause, we should reasonably expect a deal to be concluded in the next week.<\/p>\n

West Ham, though, will no doubt be eager to drag this out beyond the deadline so they can potentially attract bids closer to the \u00a350m they originally wanted for him.<\/p>\n

Recent transfer activity elsewhere could boost West Ham’s chances of doing just that.<\/p>\n

Morgan Rogers’ Chelsea move could be good news for West Ham<\/h2>\n

Aston Villa have regularly been linked with a move for Summerville this summer.<\/p>\n

In fact, despite reports of Roma leading the race for his signature, Corriere della Sera, via Roma Forever, claims a few days ago that it was actually the Premier League club who were in poll position.<\/div>\n

They claim Roma want a deal done quickly and have given Summerville and West Ham until Monday for a response to their latest offer, or they’ll move to other targets.<\/p>\n

That hands the initiative back to the likes of Villa, whose interest remains firm.<\/p>\n

And where Villa are concerned, they’re now in a very healthy financial position to push forward and get a deal for Summerville done.<\/p>\n

That’s because on Saturday it was confirmed that they had agreed to sell Morgan Rogers to Chelsea for \u00a3117m.<\/div>\n
That follows Youri Tielemans’ \u00a335m move to Manchester United just days earlier.<\/div>\n
Villa have already signed Johan Manzambi for \u00a350m and are in talks to sign Wolves’ Joao Gomes for \u00a338m, but that still leaves \u00a364m of their recent transfer windfall to be used on other targets.<\/div>\n

If they move quickly, and if reports of Summerville’s release clause are accurate, they can easily activate the clause and give Summerville a route back to the Premier League, as well as Champions League football next season.<\/p>\n

If not, they still have more than enough there to convince West Ham into selling beyond the reported release clause deadline.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Man United could still throw their hat in the ring. However, it’s reported they need to find a buyer for Marcus Rashford before opening talks for a suitable replacement.<\/div>\n

Keep a close eye on Villa’s interest in Summerville in the coming days or weeks, especially if West Ham and Summerville knock back Roma’s latest advances.<\/p>\n
