The Premier League have revealed a new date for Chelsea’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur. The two sides were initially scheduled to play in their penultimate league match on Sunday, May 17.<\/p>\n
However, as a result of Chelsea making it to the final of the FA Cup, which will be played a day earlier than that, their game has now been moved to Tuesday, May 19 (8:15pm kick-off). <\/strong>Chelsea will take on Manchester City at Wembley next month as a result of Sunday’s 1-0 win over Leeds United – Enzo Fernandez scoring the decisive goal.<\/p>\nCity, meanwhile, enjoyed a 2-1 win over Southampton to stamp their place in the all-Prem final on Saturday. It comes as Chelsea will endure a slightly more congested period of play in May than Spurs, who will need as much of an advantage as they can get as they hope to avoid their first-ever relegation from the Premier League since its inception in 1992.<\/p>\n
Roberto De Zerbi’s side currently sit 18th in the standings, two points adrift of safety as they head into their final four with Aston Villa, Leeds, the Blues and Everton. Chelsea, meanwhile, are vying for a spot in the Champions League next term, currently 10 points off the top five in eighth.<\/p>\n

Chelsea have handed Calum McFarlane the reins until the season’s end, following the sacking of Liam Rosenior last week. Rosenior managed just three months of his staggering six-and-a-half-year deal in West London before he was handed his walking papers, following a diminished run of form.<\/p>\n

A statement from the club read: “Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Liam Rosenior. On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, we would like to place on record our gratitude to Liam and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club.<\/p>\n
“Liam has always conducted himself with the highest integrity and professionalism following his appointment midway through the season. This has not been a decision the Club has taken lightly, however recent results and performances have fallen below the necessary standards with still so much more to play for this season.<\/p>\n
“Everyone at Chelsea FC wishes Liam every success in the future. Calum McFarlane will take charge of the team as Interim Head Coach until the end of the season with support from existing Club backroom staff, as we strive to achieve European qualification and progress in the FA Cup.<\/p>\n
“As the Club works to bring stability to the Head Coach position, we will undertake a process of self-reflection to make the right long-term appointment.”<\/p>\n
