It claimed he lost his attacking influence after returning to the defensive role he occupied earlier in the tournament.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report added that tiredness appeared to contribute to his late challenge on Cubars\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clar\u00edn was slightly more generous with a rating of five, although it described the final as one of Fern\u00e1ndez\u2019s poorest performances of the competition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 25-year-old had been Argentina\u2019s semi-final hero after scoring the late equaliser against England. His tournament ended in very different circumstances only four days later.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fern\u00e1ndez will now receive a period of rest before reporting back to Chelsea.
