Chelsea fans have been given a clear indication of how Xabi Alonso intends to use Morgan Rogers alongside Cole Palmer in his new-look Blues attack.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having risen through Manchester City\u2019s academy together and maintained a close friendship off the pitch, Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers still have a strong connection. <\/p>\n

Beyond their banter, including their friendly debate over who owns the cold celebration, the pair have built an understanding on and off the field. <\/p>\n

But it begs the question of where the pair will play. Especially as Cole Palmer was often used on the right-hand side under Liam Rosenior at Stamford Bridge. <\/p>\n

Morgan Rogers set to play off the left for Chelsea<\/h2>\n

Any doubts over whether Palmer will get to play in his favoured number 10 role have been put to bed, as Rogers\u2019 arrival doesn\u2019t look like it will impact anything.<\/p>\n

John Obi Mikel was one of many pundits who called Rosenior out for not playing Palmer in that specific role, and it showed in his performances.<\/p>\n

The BBC are reporting that Rogers will primarily play on the left, with Palmer operating centrally as a number 10. <\/p>\n

That would leave Estevao Willian, Pedro Neto and new signing Geovany Quenda competing for places on the right and Jamie Gittens as his understudy.<\/p>\n
