The fallout from Chelsea hijacking Morgan Rogers has taken another turn, with Arsenal now plotting a revenge mission in the transfer market.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arsenal looked destined to sign Morgan Rogers, with the Premier League champions leading negotiations for weeks. However, Chelsea blindsided their London rivals with an \u00a3117 million move that left Arsenal empty-handed. <\/p>\n

Arsenal in pole position for John Stones transfer <\/h2>\n

According to TeamTalk, there is interest from Italian sides and his former club Everton, but the defender\u2019s preference is to move to London.<\/p>\n

Arsenal\u00a0are believed to hold an edge in the race, thanks to Stones\u2019 close relationship with manager Mikel Arteta, having worked together at Manchester City.<\/p>\n

However, Chelsea are still in the race for Stones, and as we have seen before, never rule out the Blues with the pull of Xabi Alonso on show already this summer. <\/p>\n

One thing that could dictate things is the fact that Stones has also expressed a strong desire to develop his coaching credentials. So any prospective deal is expected to include a pathway for him to gain experience in coaching, potentially through structured development opportunities at the club.<\/p>\n

John Stones fits the mould for Mikel Arteta<\/h2>\n

John Stones fits the exact profile Chelsea need in terms of a proven Premier League player with experience at the highest level. Available as a free agent, his flexibility and leadership would offer an immediate, steadying influence in a young Stamford Bridge dressing room. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace\u2019s Maxence Lacroix remains the club\u2019s top long-term target in defense. At 26, the Frenchman brings incredible pace and physical potential, but he doesn\u2019t carry the same title-winning mileage or authority as Stones.<\/p>\n

The other worry is the fact that Josh Acheampong wants game time at Chelsea, but the more centre-backs that arrive the less game time he\u2019s going to get.<\/p>\n
