The Brazilian is reportedly interested in moving to the Emirates Stadium before the 2026\/27 campaign begins.<\/p>\n

According to The Sun, Arsenal have opened direct talks with Newcastle after Guimar\u00e3es communicated his desire to join the Premier League champions.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old has two years remaining on his contract at St James\u2019 Park, meaning Newcastle are not under immediate pressure to accept a reduced offer.<\/p>\n

Arsenal are reportedly considering an opening proposal of approximately \u00a360 million, but that figure is unlikely to satisfy the selling club.<\/p>\n

Newcastle have already lost important players during the summer and will not want to weaken their midfield further without receiving enough money to fund a high-quality replacement.<\/p>\n

Arsenal must therefore decide whether to improve their offer significantly or move quickly towards another target.<\/p>\n

Newcastle, however, continue to value their captain at around \u00a3100 million.<\/p>\n

From a tactical perspective, Guimar\u00e3es would be an excellent addition. His passing range, intensity and ability to operate as either a deeper midfielder or a number eight would give Arteta greater flexibility alongside Declan Rice and Mart\u00edn Zubimendi.<\/p>\n

Arsenal should be willing to reach approximately \u00a375 million, potentially with achievable add-ons.<\/p>\n

That would reflect the player\u2019s quality without matching Newcastle\u2019s inflated valuation.<\/p>\n

Guimar\u00e3es could immediately improve Arsenal\u2019s starting eleven, but paying close to \u00a3100 million for a player approaching 29 would carry considerable risk.<\/p>\n

The Gunners are right to negotiate seriously, but they must retain the discipline to walk away if Newcastle refuse to compromise.<\/p>\n
