Chelsea fans\u2019 favourite referee Anthony Taylor announced his retirement from officiating on Tuesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Taylor made some highly controversial decisions in Chelsea games he officiated, such as allowing Arsenal\u2019s opener in the 2017 FA Cup final to stand despite a handball in the build up.<\/p>\n

The Blues ended up losing that game 2-1, but what does their overall record in matches officiated by Taylor look like?<\/p>\n

Well, this will surprise Chelsea fans, but the Club World Cup holders actually have more wins than draws and losses combined!<\/p>\n

According to Transfermarkt, Taylor has refereed 59 Chelsea games. Thirty of those matches ended in victory for the Blues, 15 ended in a draw and 14 were defeats.<\/p>\n

In those fixtures, Taylor was quite quick to book Chelsea\u2019s players. In total, Taylor showed 135 yellow cards, which was more than he handed to any other club.<\/p>\n

He also showed four red cards, sending Victor Moses and Mateo Kovacic off in the 2017 and 2020 FA Cup finals.<\/p>\n

It is no surprise, then, that Chelsea fans are not too disappointed about Taylor\u2019s retirement. With that being said, their players have not always behaved, especially in the last campaign.<\/p>\n

Chelsea\u2019s discipline, or lack thereof, was a huge talking point. They picked up an astonishing 11 red cards, including Enzo Maresca\u2019s dismissal against Liverpool.<\/p>\n

It is one of the first things that Xabi Alonso has to address now that he has taken over as Chelsea manager.<\/p>\n

Chelsea supporters will no longer have to worry about Taylor officiating their games, though, and have a lot to look forward to next term.<\/p>\n

Alonso is at the helm and Chelsea have just signed Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, a very exciting addition to their squad. Hopefully next season goes much more smoothly than the last one, which saw Chelsea finish in 10th place.<\/p>\n
