Tottenham Hotspur may have just been handed a golden chance to secure Alex Scott after the Bournemouth midfielder\u2019s latest decision.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spurs have already spent a combined \u00a3185m on Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali this summer, but some reports suggest that the Lilywhites may look to add another central midfielder to their squad.<\/p>\n

That may be down to the fact that Lucas Bergvall is widely expected to exit Tottenham over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

It has been widely reported since the start of the summer that Spurs are also continuing to monitor Alex Scott, who has just two years left on his deal at the Vitality Stadium, and there has now been a big development over his future.<\/p>\n

Tottenham target Alex Scott turns down second Bournemouth contract offer<\/h2>\n

The Cherries have continued to maintain that the 22-year-old is not for sale, but their efforts to tie down the midfielder to a new contract have now failed.<\/p>\n

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has revealed that Scott has now turned down a second contract proposal from Bournemouth, even though the South Coast club are open to including a release clause in any new deal.<\/p>\n

The journalist added that several top Premier League clubs remain attentive to the midfielder\u2019s situation.<\/p>\n

Spurs face major competition for Scott but they may have one advantage<\/h2>\n

It has been claimed throughout the summer that the Lilywhites face competition from Arsenal and Man United for Scott.<\/p>\n

Additionally, BBC Sport reported earlier this month that Man City and Chelsea also hold a \u2018serious interest\u2019 in the Tottenham midfield target.<\/p>\n

Chelsea even had a \u00a364m bid rejected by Bournemouth this week. Ben Jacobs reported: \u2018Bournemouth told Chelsea, much like they did to Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United, that they don\u2019t wish to sell.\u2019<\/p>\n

The journalist also reinforced Fabrizio Romano\u2019s report, indicating that Scott has no current plans to sign a new contract with the Cherries.<\/p>\n
