In a recent report, The Times stated that Chelsea are leading the race for Bayer 04 Leverkusen winger Kerim Alajbegovic. It has been mentioned that the Blues are in pole position to secure the services of the Bosnian wide player this summer.<\/p>\n

Alajbegovic\u2019s Impressive Form In The Bundesliga<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alajbegovic enjoyed a good run of form at the German club in the previous campaign when he put in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 18-year-old banged in 13 times and earned four assists in 44 appearances for Bayer 04 Leverkusen last season across multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The Bosnian talent is currently among the best young wide players in the Bundesliga. Therefore, it is no wonder that Chelsea are showing interest in recruiting him this off-season.<\/p>\n

His current contract at the German club will expire in the summer of 2031, which could make it difficult for the Blues to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.<\/p>\n

Will Alajbegovic Be A Good Choice For Chelsea Boss Xabi Alonso?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alajbegovic is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with it out on the flanks. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.<\/p>\n

The Bosnian talent deserves credit for adding a handful of goals and assists to his game last season. Alajbegovic mainly functions as a left-sided wide player but can also serve as a right-winger or play as a centre-forward up top if asked to do so. However, there are some concerns over whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if the Blues manage to get a deal done for him in this transfer period.<\/p>\n

We can expect Alajbegovic to inject more quality and depth into Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso\u2019s frontline. He is capable of challenging for a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge next season.<\/p>\n

At 18, Alajbegovic is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future and would be a great choice for the West London club to pursue in the long run.
