The Cherries rejected it and told Chelsea not to return with another approach. The club also stressed this directly to the player, wanting to retain one of their most valuable assets. The move comes as Xabi Alonso reshapes his midfield options ahead of his first full season in charge at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not the first time the club has stood firm either. An Arsenal approach for Alex Scott had already been turned down. Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City also showed interest earlier in the window.
