Arsenal have reportedly joined the growing list of clubs monitoring Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup, although securing the Norwegian international\u2019s signature this summer could prove far from straightforward.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN<\/em>Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all keeping a close eye on Schjelderup\u2019s situation after the 22-year-old impressed during the FIFA World Cup. Meanwhile, recent reports have also credited Arsenal with an interest in the talented wide forward.<\/p>\n

Arsenal face competition for highly-rated Benfica winger<\/strong><\/h2>\n

According to the report Schjelderup is considering a new challenge this summer despite still having two years remaining on his contract with Benfica.<\/p>\n

The report adds that any club hoping to prise him away from the Portuguese giants would likely need to submit an offer worth at least \u20ac40 million, underlining the value Benfica place on one of their brightest attacking talents.<\/p>\n

Schjelderup enhanced his growing reputation with a series of eye-catching displays for Norway at this summer\u2019s World Cup, where he made six appearances. His performances have reportedly attracted the attention of several Premier League clubs, with Arsenal now among those linked alongside Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham.<\/p>\n

Arsenal supporters will already have had a chance to see exactly what Schjelderup can offer on the biggest stage. While Arsenal\u2019s reported interest is intriguing, completing a deal may not be straightforward.<\/p>\n

TransferFeed<\/em> reports that Benfica are currently reluctant to sell Schjelderup during this transfer window, with that stance having prompted some interested clubs to turn their attention towards fellow Norway international Antonio Nusa instead, Nusa being another reported Arsenal target.<\/p>\n

The same report notes that Schjelderup is under contract until 2028 and currently carries a market valuation of around \u20ac40 million, although Benfica\u2019s reported asking price has been placed significantly higher in recent weeks. Reports have suggested the Portuguese club could demand anywhere between \u20ac50 million and \u20ac80 million, while his contract is also believed to include a \u20ac100 million release clause.<\/p>\n

For now, Arsenal\u2019s reported interest appears to be at the exploratory stage, and with several Premier League rivals also tracking the Norwegian, any move is likely to depend on whether Benfica soften their current stance before the transfer window closes.<\/p>\n
