There is no denying that Chelsea supporters are feeling quite optimistic right now.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And after such a hugely disappointing Premier League season, we are not going to let rival fans take that away from us!<\/p>\n

With that being said, there is at least one thing that will concern the Chelsea fan base, an issue we have seen for years now.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, after less than a year in charge, it is already something that Xabi Alonso has witnessed.<\/p>\n

Chelsea have injury issue that needs to be addressed with Emmanuel Emegha and Geovany Quenda out<\/h2>\n

Simply put, there is an injury problem at Chelsea, with new signings Emmanuel Emegha and Geovany Quenda being the Blues\u2019 latest casualties.<\/p>\n

As a result, Emegha and Quenda have been left out of Chelsea\u2019s squad for their pre-season tour of Australia.<\/p>\n

Emegha\u2019s fitness record last term was already poor, so there may not be any correlation between methods at Chelsea and his and Quenda\u2019s injuries.<\/p>\n

However, when you look at the number of injuries that Chelsea have had to contend with in previous campaigns, there clearly is a problem. <\/p>\n

Before the 2025\/26 season even started, they were without their first-choice centre-back Levi Colwill because of an ACL injury.<\/p>\n

Early in the season, Cole Palmer had to deal with a niggling groin issue that he could just not shake off.<\/p>\n

Towards the end of the campaign, Chelsea then lost Estevao Willian to a hamstring injury. Some will point to the Club World Cup and the number of games that the Blues played in the 2024\/25 season, while others will say there is no correlation between all of these injuries.<\/p>\n

Whatever the case, Chelsea\u2019s injury record is not great, and after losing Emegha and Quenda for this first part of pre-season, supporters will understandably be worried.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, Emegha\u2019s and Quenda\u2019s injuries are not too serious, but they are something to keep an eye on.<\/p>\n
