The 22-year-old also admitted he needed to rediscover his confidence following a disappointing single season at Stamford Bridge.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chelsea allowed Garnacho to join Villa on a season-long loan after Xabi Alonso made clear that regular minutes could not be guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Argentina international started only 14 Premier League matches last season. Champions League is the best.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chelsea finished 10th last season and will not play in Europe during Alonso\u2019s first campaign. Garnacho\u2019s comments could therefore be viewed as a subtle dig at his former club, although he did not directly criticise Chelsea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The winger instead focused on rebuilding his confidence under Unai Emery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI was looking for a club to get confidence and try to be the player that I was years ago,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Garnacho\u2019s departure has reduced the competition inside an increasingly crowded Chelsea attack. Morgan Rogers has arrived from Villa, while Jamie Gittens, Pedro Neto, Estev\u00e3o and Geovany Quenda can all operate from wide positions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ReadChelsea\u2019s latest transfer overview explained why further departures were expected after Rogers joined Alonso\u2019s squad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chelsea will hope Garnacho performs well enough to trigger the conditional purchase obligation included in his Villa agreement. The exact fee and conditions have not been disclosed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Garnacho\u2019s comments on his Chelsea exit may frustrate some supporters.
