Chelsea\u2019s No.1 midfield target appears to be Bournemouth\u2019s Alex Scott after having one bid for him turned down.<\/strong><\/p>\n

While Scott is thought to be keen to join Chelsea this summer, the Cherries have rejected a \u00a364m offer from their Premier League rivals. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Chelsea do not seem ready to give up just yet as they try to strengthen their midfield before the start of the new season.<\/p>\n

But signing the English youngster will continue to be a task that is not straightforward.<\/p>\n

Bournemouth could easily demand \u00a3100m fee for Alex Scott<\/h2>\n

Journalist Florian Plettenberg has claimed on X that Chelsea are still interested in Scott and are readying a new bid for him.<\/p>\n

However, Chelsea should be ready for another knock back if their next offer does not reach the \u00a3100m mark.<\/p>\n

They have already had an offer worth almost \u00a370m turned down, while the midfielder market has gone absolutely bonkers. Bournemouth will feel that Scott is a \u00a3100m midfielder.<\/p>\n

Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali have both just been sold for \u00a3100m fees, with the former costing slightly more than that, while Mateus Fernandes has gone for \u00a385m, even after West Ham United\u2019s relegation.<\/p>\n

It is no surprise that Bournemouth said no to Chelsea\u2019s \u00a364m offer. In this climate, they probably found it insulting.<\/p>\n

Scott is not a \u00a3100m midfielder, though, and neither are Anderson nor Tonali. They are not going to have the same kind of impact that Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Declan Rice have for club and country.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, this is what the market has become, and if Chelsea are desperate to sign Scott during this transfer window, they should brace themselves for a \u00a3100m quote.<\/p>\n

If Chelsea are going to fork out \u00a3100m on another midfielder, Newcastle United\u2019s Bruno Guimaraes would be a much better option.<\/p>\n

Chelsea making a move for Guimaraes has actually not been ruled out by one journalist, but signing a 28-year-old for \u00a3100m does not sound like BlueCo.<\/p>\n
