Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso says he has a plan for how to use Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer in his team next season. <\/strong><\/p>\n Rogers joined the Blues from Aston Villa last week for a club record transfer fee of \u00a3117 million, making him the most expensive English footballer of all time. <\/p>\n Alonso believes the attacking midfielder can make an \u201cinstant impact\u201d at Stamford Bridge, but it is unclear how he and Palmer will fit into the starting lineup together given they play similar roles. <\/p>\n The two players are predominantly playmaking no.10\u2019s, though Palmer can operate on the right wing while Rogers played on the left of a front three several times last season. <\/p>\n \u201cIn that position we needed an important player and I\u2019m sure there were not many more better options than Morgan Rogers,\u201d Alonso said.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it means a lot to everyone, and for the players that are already here as well. They have a good feeling and they are looking forward to having him. <\/p>\n \u201cYou need players who can have that almost instant impact and I\u2019m sure Morgan won\u2019t need much time to adapt to the club, the system and his team-mates.<\/p>\n \u201cThat was the idea, to get a top player, and Morgan is one of them.<\/p>\n Alonso added: \u201cI have a plan. I have an idea. I can see them linking really well.<\/p>\n \u201cWe need to have a good mix.
