It has been claimed that the Mancunian club are preparing to launch a blockbuster move to recruit the Argentina international this summer.

Fernandez’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Fernandez enjoyed a decent run of form at the West London club in the previous campaign when he produced a series of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The Argentine talent participated in 54 matches for Chelsea last season, scoring 15 times and securing seven assists in the process across various competitions.

The 25-year-old is currently among the best central midfielders in the Premier League. Thus, it is no wonder that Man City are showing interest in recruiting him later this year.

His current contract at Stamford Bridge will run out in the summer of 2032, which could make it difficult for the Mancunian giants to sign him on the cheap this off-season.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY – JULY 19: Enzo Fernandez #24 of Argentina controls the ball during the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final match between Spain and Argentina at New York New Jersey Stadium on July 19, 2026 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when needed and can shoot the ball with power from long range.

The Argentine talent has got the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for others around him inside the opponent’s half. Fernandez is full of energy and running at the centre of the park. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a defensive midfielder or as an attacking midfielder if asked to do so.

Fernandez has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man City. We can expect him to bring more quality and depth to Enzo Maresca’s midfield.

At 25, Fernandez has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Mancunian giants to pursue in this transfer window. He will also help Man City compete for some major honours over the next few years. With all things considered, Maresca would be wise to move in for him soon.

In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey stated that Manchester City are eyeing a move…

[4

post-22210","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-chelsea
["GET
