Millie Bright has just announced her retirement from football after a trophy laden 12 year spell with Chelsea.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n If you enjoy Chelsea News coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.<\/em><\/p>\n It\u2019s just been announced that Chelsea women captain Millie Bright is retiring from football with immediate effect.<\/p>\n Having joined the club in 2015, the defender went on to made 294 appearances for the Blues, as well as picking up 88 England caps.<\/p>\n Bright has not been able to play since February because of an ankle injury, but this is still a surprising announcement.<\/p>\n \u201cRepresenting Chelsea over the last 12 years has been everything to me, but I\u2019m now ready to say goodbye to playing football,\u201d Bright said in an emotional video statement.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve given all I can, and I never wanted to fight for any other badge. It is now time, and I\u2019m ready to go into a new era.
