Manchester United have already added a couple of midfielders to their ranks during the summer transfer window. Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans have both joined the club \u2013 now, Tyler Adams could be on his way to Old Trafford.<\/strong><\/p>\n Adams was part of a highly successful Bournemouth team last season who finished sixth in the Premier League table under the stewardship of Andoni Iraola. Could he replicate this success with the Red Devils?<\/p>\n According to a report from TalkSPORT, United are \u2018considering\u2019 a bid for the USA international. Right now, it is unclear how much he will cost. Prior reports have suggested he could be available for as little as \u00a335 million, though this valuation is understood to be wide of the mark.<\/p>\n A few of United\u2019s big six rivals have been linked with Adams previously. Back in March, a report from the Daily Mail claimed that both Chelsea and Liverpool were interested in a move for the player. <\/p>\n However, it is unclear if either of these two teams are still looking to bring Adams on board at this stage. If not, then United might be able to snap him up uncontested.<\/p>\n Former Leeds United winger Eddie Lewis is a big fan of his. He urged United to sign him, stating (via TalkSPORT): \u201cI think his style of game, he could step into any world-class team and contribute in that six role, maybe I don\u2019t think as much of an eight. <\/p>\n \u201cBut from my perspective, that (links to Manchester United) doesn\u2019t surprise me. I think he\u2019s done really, really well. I\u2019m hoping that he gets the opportunity because I think that\u2019ll be the first American player on the field that can step into a huge team and have an impact, which says a lot about the player development in America.\u201d<\/p>\n As Lewis claimed, Adams is more of a holding player than a dynamic central midfielder. To this end, he could fill the gap left behind by Casemiro, following the Brazilian international\u2019s departure at the end of last season.<\/p>\n As well as this, he can also play as a right-back if he is required to do so. Given his athleticism and defensive qualities, it\u2019s a pretty natural fit for the 27-year-old. <\/p>\n His defensive acumen is certainly strong, behind decent in the air and strong in the tackle, but he is also very good on the ball, too. Adams\u2019 range of passing is very impressive, being able to find players from deep positions.<\/p>\n As well as this, he reads the game very well and rarely concedes possession, even when under pressure. Furthermore, he also possesses a wicked long shot, having scored some spectacular goals during his time at Bournemouth.<\/p>\n Some United fans may be underwhelmed by this link.
