Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has refused to comment on speculation linking Chelsea with Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson but has said his squad needs \u2018balance\u2019.<\/p>\n
Chelsea have made approaches to sign Welbeck and Henderson from Brighton and Brentford respectively, as the West Londoners seek experience. <\/p>\n
At 35 and 36 years old, the duo represent a significant shift from Chelsea\u2019s recent recruitment, with the Blues having had the youngest average squad age in the Premier League last season.<\/p>\n
Speaking after Chelsea\u2019s 6-4 win over Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia, Alonso said he would not comment on specific targets. <\/p>\n
However, he underlined the need for his squad to have \u2018proper balance in terms of qualities\u2019 with experience on the club\u2019s radar before the closure of the transfer window.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m sure that from today until the last day of the transfer (window) there will be a lot of rumours, so to be commenting on all of them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a hard task, but for sure we need proper balance in terms of qualities, in terms of positions, in terms of balance. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to have a complete squad and we want to make a good team. For that we have an idea, we have a plan and let\u2019s see how we set it up until the start of the Premier League.\u201d<\/p>\n
