\t<\/div>Manchester United have been urged to pursue the signing of Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez to bolster Michael Carrick\u2019s midfield options.<\/p>\n
Carrick now appears almost certain to be given the full-time job at United, having guided the Red Devils to the brink of Champions League qualification.<\/p>\n
One of the first orders of business for the Englishman will be to improve his options in central midfield, particularly with Casemiro set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season.<\/p>\n
Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson and Aurelien Tchouameni are three of the names who reportedly feature high up on United\u2019s shortlist heading into the transfer window.<\/p>\n
But former Red Devils striker Louis Saha has urged the club to consider a move for World Cup winner Fernandez, who faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n
Only last month. Fernandez cast doubts over his long-term future at Chelsea, telling Argentine media in March that he\u00a0\u2018did not know\u2019 where his future lies beyond this summer\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n
The 25-year-old has also been linked with Manchester City and Real Madrid, and was\u00a0suspended for two games by former boss Liam Rosenior\u00a0after comments insinuating he would like to live in the Spanish capital.<\/p>\n Speaking to Betinia, <\/em>Saha said: \u2018I don\u2019t think Enzo Fernandez has the same style as Bruno Fernandes, but he could still fit into that midfield.<\/p>\n \u2018He has the calmness on the ball, the intelligence, and the ability to open up play. He\u2019s not exactly the same as a holding midfielder like Caicedo, but he has aggression and quality.<\/p>\n \u2018It would be a no-brainer, but if he is available, it\u2019s definitely something Manchester United should consider.\u2019<\/p>\n Elsewhere, former United defender Rio Ferdinand endorsed United\u2019s interest in Tchouameni but admitted getting any deal over the line for a high-quality central midfielder could prove \u2018difficult\u2019 this summer.<\/p>\n \u2018Tchouameni would be great but is he available? I don\u2019t know if he\u2019s available. His experience is huge,\u2019 Ferdinand said on his\u00a0YouTube\u00a0channel.<\/p>\n \u2018I think he speaks English as well, so that\u2019s not an issue. I think he\u2019s a fantastic footballer.<\/p>\n \u2018I remember the game France-England in a tournament, I think it was\u00a0Qatar. He was majestic. He was strong. He was commanding. He\u2019s played in huge games. He has the experience. So I wouldn\u2019t worry about him, I\u2019d be very happy to get him.<\/p>\n \u2018Baleba has got huge potential but has had a bit of a dip this season from where he was the season before.<\/p>\n \u2018Anderson I think would be a great signing. Again,\u00a0Premier League\u00a0proven, great energy, I think there can be huge improvements, his ceiling is quite high, I think there is more to come from him that you can get out of him at Man United. I think Michael Carrick would be a great tutor for him as well.<\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s going to be difficult.
