{"id":22959,"date":"2026-07-30T18:38:01","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T18:38:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=22959"},"modified":"2026-07-30T18:38:01","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T18:38:01","slug":"chelsea-weigh-up-second-bid-for-excellent-premier-league-star-after-75m-proposal-is-rejected","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/playball.com.ng\/?p=22959","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea Weigh Up Second Bid For &#8220;Excellent&#8221; Premier League Star After \u00a375M Proposal Is Rejected"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<article>\n<p><strong>Chelsea are \u201cstill pushing\u201d to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, according to reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Writing on his Substack, journalist Simon Phillips said that the Blues have \u201cgone back into discussions\u201d with the Cherries in an attempt to find a breakthrough.<\/p>\n<p>An opening offer (worth \u00a360m upfront and another \u00a315m in add-ons) has reportedly been rejected already, but there is clearly hope that a deal can be struck.<\/p>\n<p>Scott has less than two years left on his contract at the Vitality Stadium, and he is said to have recently rejected a new deal, which could accelerate his departure from the South Coast.<\/p>\n<h2>Why do Chelsea want the midfielder?<\/h2>\n<p>Scott made a big impression playing in a deeper-lying role under Andoni Iraola last season, and it led to him being called up by his country. Then he took another step and becomes a regular starter for AFC Bournemouth, and they are in the top third of the league.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are over-performing constantly, and he is a starter for them.
