A luxury $9.1 million yacht sank into the waters of the Mediterranean Sea Tuesday, just days after it had been delivered to its new owner.<\/p>\n

The Angiola II was off the coast of Porto Cervo on the popular Italian island of Sardinia with 14 guests on board when it experienced engine failure that sparked a fire, the New York Post reported.<\/p>\n

The blaze damaged seals on the vessel, which began to take on water, causing it to tip onto its side.<\/p>\n

The unidentified owner \u2014 an Italian businessman \u2014 was the last one off the ship, the newspaper reported.<\/p>\n

The yacht reportedly sank at a depth of around 23 feet between an island called L\u2019Isola dei Cappuccini and Capo Ferro on Sardinia\u2019s exclusive Costa Smeralda, or Emerald Coast, the news report states.<\/p>\n

The boat will be kept under surveillance until a recovery company recovers it from the sea floor.<\/p>\n
