Waffle House is stepping outside its traditional breakfast offerings and testing seven taco varieties \u2014 but they’re only available at select locations, for now.<\/p>\n

“We are always looking to test new menu items, and tacos are delicious,” a Waffle House spokesperson told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

The restaurant chain is testing the tacos for a limited time, while supplies last, at about 45 locations in the Atlanta metropolitan area, close to the Waffle House corporate offices.<\/p>\n

The breakfast taco comes with egg and cheese and a choice of bacon, sausage, chicken sausage or ham.<\/p>\n

The lunch and dinner tacos include a cheesesteak melt, chicken melt or patty melt.<\/p>\n

All taco options are available at any time of day.<\/p>\n

“It has only been a week, but the early feedback has been positive,” Waffle House’s spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

Social media reaction is mixed.<\/p>\n

“I bet they’re fire too,” an Instagram user commented on a post announcing the tacos’ debut.<\/p>\n

“We’re about to witness the downfall of Waffle House with this foolishness,” someone else wrote.<\/p>\n

“That’s an absolute no,” posted another Instagram user.<\/p>\n

“Looks like they got the message that different times call for different measures and adapt to changes! SURVIVAL,” a supporter wrote.<\/p>\n

“I’ve worked in kitchens for 20 years, and honestly, I don’t like when successful restaurants start adding unnecessary items,” someone wrote in a Reddit forum discussing the new tacos.<\/p>\n

“Waffle House is the one chain restaurant I ever go to and I’ve never been disappointed,” the Redditor continued. “If I want tacos, I’ll go to a Mexican restaurant. The tacos are kind of silly, and those cooks shouldn’t need to have even more dishes to learn.”<\/p>\n

Another person commented that the tacos are “unnecessary,” while another Reddit user remarked that with the addition of tortillas, Waffle House would already have the other ingredients on hand to make the tacos.<\/p>\n

“I’m all for it as long as it’s tacos containing current Waffle House foods,” wrote another person. “Basic breakfast tacos would be incredible. But if I’m wanting real tacos, it’s not gonna be WH.”<\/p>\n

Best known for its waffles, breakfast plates and signature hash browns \u2014 which can be ordered “scattered,” “smothered,” “covered” and more depending on preparation and toppings \u2014 Waffle House has tested several new products in recent years.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, the diner rolled out the Fiesta Chicken Protein Bowl, promoting the dish’s 52 grams of protein. The item contains three scrambled eggs, two slices of cheese and one grilled chicken breast.<\/p>\n

In 2025, nine Atlanta-area restaurants tested canned Classic Blend Cold Brew coffee. In late 2023, chicken sausage began appearing on Waffle House menus.<\/p>\n
