Chelsea captain Millie Bright has announced her retirement from football with immediate effect.<\/strong><\/p>\n The 32-year-old has made the decision to call time on a decorated career that saw the centre-back win major prizes with club and country.<\/p>\n Bright was part of the England team that won Euro 2022 on home soil, and reached the World Cup final a year later. She won 88 caps for the Lionesses, scoring six times.<\/p>\n At club level, Bright represented Doncaster Ladies, Leeds Belles and Chelsea. Her greatest success came in West London with a club-record 314 appearances and involvement in all eight of Chelsea\u2019s WSL titles.<\/p>\n \u201cRepresenting Chelsea over the last 12 years has been everything to me, but I\u2019m now ready to say goodbye to playing football,\u201d Bright said.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve given all I can, and I never wanted to fight for any other badge. It is now time, and I\u2019m ready to go into a new era.
